Our College offers an exciting and wide-ranging music program – catering to all ages and interests – to nurture your child’s musical abilities.
With around 30 music groups – ranging from a Year 2 Recorder Group through to Vocal Ensembles, String Ensembles, an Orchestra, Big Bands and Funk Band – there are many exciting opportunities for your child to explore music and experience the joy of performing.
Your child will be encouraged to perform in our program of annual concerts and may be invited to represent Concordia on a regional or international music tour, or at the Generations in Jazz or ABODA Festivals. In the past, students have even had opportunities to learn from and share the stage with accomplished artists and acts such as James Morrison, Thirsty Merc, and the ARIA-winning a cappella vocal ensemble, The Idea of North.

Special Interest Music
From Year 7, musically gifted students can apply for Special Interest Music, a mentoring program to develop their talents. Students study Musicianship, Ensemble Performance and Music Arrangement.
School Musical
All students from Reception to Year 6 at our St Peters Campus take part in an annual campus musical production, providing opportunities to further develop their performing arts skills, as well as providing leadership opportunities.
In our Middle and Senior School, many of our students perform in a professionally presented musical, which provides them with theatre and musical performance opportunities on-stage and behind the scenes. An annual tradition, our musicals started in 1961.
Overseas Music Tours
Overseas music tours are generally offered every two years. Over the last decade, Concordia has undertaken successful tours to Europe, Japan, Malaysia, China and Hong Kong. In 2018, the school music tour was to France and Belgium.
