One of the Old Concordians' Association's aims outlined in our Strategic Plan is 'to share the wisdom and knowledge of members of the Concordia community to enhance each other’s lives'. A great way for this to happen is for interested people to be part of sporting or other special interest groups under the Old Concordians' Association banner. The Old Concordians' Association currently has a number of existing groups that are open to all.
Old Concordians' Cricket Club
Founded in 1981 and reformed in 1999, the Concordia Old Concordians’ Cricket Club offers an opportunity for Old Concordians to play and socialise in a positive, supportive atmosphere. The Club trains and plays at the College grounds, and currently fields three teams that play each Saturday afternoon in the Adelaide Turf Cricket Association. New players are always welcome at Tuesday or Thursday training, and supporters can stop by the oval on a Saturday to watch the game. For more information (including match results), visit www.concordiacricket.com.au or contact the Club President, Troy Pincin (1999).
Old Concordians’ Soccer Club
The Club has two teams in the Collegiate Soccer League on Saturday afternoons from April until September. Trainings are on Monday nights at Pasadena High School on Daws Road, and home games are at the Adelaide Lutheran grounds on the corner of South Terrace and Goodwood Road. Old Concordians of any ability are welcome. Email Club President, Cameron Basnec (2015).
Old Concordians’ Association Racing Pedal Prix Team
The Old Concordians’ Association Racing Team commenced in 2020 and completed its first official race at the beginning of the 2021 Pedal Prix season. The Team enjoys a connection with the four College teams and is a great way for students to stay in touch with each other while maintaining their fitness through this unique sport. Email Nelson Harris for more information.
Old Concordians’ Association Netball Club
We are fortunate to have a highly engaged group of girls representing the Old Concordians on the netball court, but more players are welcome as the Club seeks to enter more teams in the future. Email Club President, Chrissy Barnard (2003).
Old Concordians’ Association Volleyball Club
The Volleyball Club is our newest interest group, comprising passionate volleyballers, many of whom have graduated in recent years and are keen to continue playing this highly cooperative team sport. With Concordia’s volleyball program growing in strength and success over the last few years, it is wonderful for current students to have a pathway to continue their Concordia volleyball involvement after they graduate. Email Club President, Emma Whyte (2018) for more information.
Old Concordians' Association Basketball Club
The Old Concordians’ Basketball Club has both men’s and women’s teams in the SACBA Saturday Competition. The Club invites players of all ability and provides friendly, inclusive and community connection. Contact Club Coordinator, Tristan Prentice (2004) for more information.
