The Concordia Pedal Prix team recently competed in Round 2 of the Australian Human Powered Vehicle series at Tailem Bend Raceway. It was a great spectacle to see many teams and spectators back at the track again, creating a great atmosphere. Race day was highly enjoyable for our four teams and forty students involved. The challenging 3.1km track provided difficult riding conditions for students, particularly when riding in the headwinds; however, all teams powered on throughout the race with little to no incidents.
Teams worked out of the professional pit garages, managing rider changeovers and providing feedback to the riders out on the track through the pit wall. Highlights for the day included several new riders experiencing their first official race and our Middle School all-female team achieving a third position in their category. All our teams represented the College well in a highly competitive national competition.
Thank you to all the staff and parents who assist in a range of roles in making the day so successful for everyone. Our students look forward to competing in Round 3 at Victoria Park on Sunday 19 June.
