The Year 1 students enjoyed a beautiful, albeit cold, autumn day in the Adelaide Botanic Gardens as part of their inquiry into 'How the World Works'. They learnt some amazing things from Trent Hill - an Indigenous storyteller, educator and guide - about the materials used by Indigenous Australians as part of their survival. They learned of all the ways that wood was used, along with a variety of plants used for food, medicines, soap and water. The children were captivated at how fire was created and used in those early days of our rich history.
