Pedal Prix Tailem Bend 8‑Hour Race

On Saturday 6 August our four college Pedal Prix teams returned to The Bend Raceway at Tailem Bend to compete in an 8-hour race against 178 school and community teams from around Australia. It was a great community feel throughout the day as we had a record number of people attend the event. We also shared our garage with both the Old Concordian and St Peters Lutheran School teams.

The weather was very windy and cold, making riding conditions difficult across the 3.14km track. All teams circulated without any technical problems, but some competitive racing resulted in some of our teams experiencing roll overs and collisions. Our students brought lots of enthusiasm and energy to the track, showing excellent changeover times in the pits and consistent lap times from all students. Our Middle School girls' team finished fourth, while our other teams finished outside the top 10. All teams have positioned themselves in an excellent season position for the final round of the year. A big thank you to the parents and students who help maintain our trikes each week and help in key roles on race day to make it successful. Students are now really looking forward to returning to Murray Bridge at the end of this term to compete in the 24-hour race season finale for the first time in a couple of years.
