Round 1 of the Australia-New Zealand Brain Bee Challenge was a great success with nearly 3,000 students across Australia and New Zealand participating. The Brain Bee is run by the Australasian Neuroscience Society. It is a challenging competition for students in Year 10 to learn about the brain and its functions, learn about neuroscience research and much more.
We had four of our students qualify to participate in the Individual and Team Challenge of the South Australian State Final at Flinders University.
- Luke (10JPID)
- Lily (10RSOM)
- Sienna (10MSMA)
- Levon (10JPID)
The State Final was held in two parts, a formal individual competition and a face to face experience with live questioning for teams. Our team members worked so hard to prepare for the competition, answering over 12,000 questions about the brain. We were thrilled to place third in South Australia in the team competition. One of our students, Luke, was crowned overall State Champion. He will now proceed to represent South Australia at the National Final. Congratulations everyone on an incredible effort!
