Not perhaps as commonly used or heard as trio or quartet, a quindectet is the term for an ensemble consisting of 15 musicians. Inspired by the plethora of cello players we’re blessed to have at the College, instrumental tutor and ensemble director Therese O’Brien recently formed a Cello Quindectet featuring students from Years 8 through to 12. The ensemble rehearses at recess times and is currently preparing a diverse repertoire that includes pirate-themed and Gælic ballad works. Be sure to look out for their first performance – you’ll hear them coming!
