On Friday 2 September, the Function Centre at the Arkaba on Fullarton Road hosted our annual Senior Vocal Cabaret.
This is a particularly special event where our senior vocal students are given the opportunity to showcase their hard work on a professional stage whilst working with a professional accompanist.
In addition to the stunning solo and duet performances, Big Band 1, Mattson Jazz, McKenzie Jazz, Year 9 Choir, Dulcet Harmony and Low Key (Jazz Trio) also provided outstanding entertainment across the evening.
My sincere thanks to all who contributed to make the evening so special, particularly:
- The Arkaba Function Centre
- Jenni Watkins (Music Administrator)
- Concordia’s dedicated Music Staff
- Adam Page (Big Band 1 Director)
- Our talented and supportive vocal tutors
- Dave McEvoy, Billy St John, Barnabas Smith, and Deanna Whelan (accompanists)
- Low Key (Aaron, Yiannis and Caleb – all Year 12)
- ‘Friends of Music’ volunteers
- Simon Kuchel (Sound and Lighting)
- Ben Wallis (photographer)
- Size Music (donated $200 Voucher)
