1. Where were you before this and what persuaded you to join Concordia College?
For the last nine years I have been living and working in Hong Kong and China as the Vice-Principal in two International IB Schools, both in very different settings.
I am originally from Adelaide and felt very passionate about coming back to the Lutheran System where I began my teaching career over 20 years ago. My heart has always been in Lutheran education and the values of a Christ-centred approach align to my own personal beliefs of education. I am so excited to be part of the Concordia College community and to support every learner to thrive, flourish, grow and innovate.
2. Three words to describe you.
Humble, passionate, lifelong learner.
3. What is your motivation or inspiration in your role?
The students inspire me each day! I am motivated by the students and the dispositions, knowledge and attributes they display and apply in their learning every day. They are capable, curious, inquisitive and knowledgeable.
I am committed to working in partnership with the dedicated and caring staff of Concordia to ensure all students in our care are respected, cared for and given the tools and strategies to be internationally-minded citizens of the world
4. If you had a superpower, what would it be?
If I had a superpower, I think I would choose the ability to fly to anywhere in the world. It’s important to see the world from different perspectives, including learning about various cultures. There is so much we can learn from each other about inclusivity, appreciation, understanding and acceptance.
5. Who would you invite to a dinner party of six guests and why? Alternatively, tell us something you might like to share that we could not possibly know?
If I could invite anyone to a dinner party, it would be my immediate family and close friends. After, living overseas for a long period of time I just love being around and spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy eating a delicious home-cooked meal! My favourite meal is lasagna and salad.
