On Tuesday 11 April, the Year 8s travelled to Normanville for our camp.
Our base camp was at Dzintari Latvian Campsite in Normanville, and from this we journeyed to Normanville Beach, Second Valley and Deep Creek Conservation Park. We did lots of outdoor activities, including hiking, kayaking and snorkelling. As part of the camp program, we also participated in various team-building activities aimed at strengthening our teamwork and communication skills. I especially enjoyed the day hikes and camping experience, where we had to cook our own food on a Trangia, sleep in a tent, and explore the conservation park. It was challenging, but also really rewarding. It was a unique experience and we got to learn about the local wildlife and environment from our camp instructors.
Overall, the Year 8 Camp was an unforgettable experience. It was so much fun, and I learned a lot too. I am grateful to the teachers who organised it and made it possible. I can't wait for our next adventure!
