The City of Unley supports young people to develop concepts into real businesses through its ‘Fish Tank’ program.
The initiative offers mentoring led by local business leaders in practical seminars which help participants shape and refine their entrepreneurial ideas.
The learning culminates in Pitch Night, where ideas are presented before a panel. At the May event, judges included Mayor Michael Hewitson, Lisa Ireland, a Business SA mentor, Sasha Dragovelic, founder of Futurepreneurs Launchpad, and Lachy Pieck, Director of Missy Sippy Co and finalist of Fish Tank 2022. Concordia's Rory 7LTHO came second in the 12-17 year old category with his business, Floppy Ears Dog Bakery. Pia 11DWHE was also a finalist with her business, Bumper.
Congratulations to these Concordia students for being part of the program. If anyone is interested in Fish Tank, we encourage you to subscribe to the Council’s Living Young newsletter to find out about future rounds.
