On Tuesday 23 May, the Year 11s and the St John’s Campus Year 5s began their day by walking laps of the oval in support of Australian Lutheran World Service (ALWS). This cross-campus “mini Walk my Way” event is now in its fourth year at Concordia, and it was pleasing to see the students from the two year levels interacting with each other while enjoying a healthy and relaxed start to the day. At the same time, they were raising money for a very worthy cause.
The students are raising money to help support the education of children in refugee camps and in countries affected by natural disasters, particularly Syria and Turkiye. It costs just $26 to educate a child in one of these countries for one year, providing them with hope, purpose and a reprieve from the trauma that they have experienced.
We are aiming to raise $1,000 through our mini event, to add to over $17,000 raised through the official Concordia College Walk my Way event in Week 2. Please follow the link below if you would like to donate.
