On Monday 18 September, the four-year-olds from the Early Learning Centre at St John's Campus, Highgate, visited the Early Learning Centre at St Peters Campus, Blackwood to partake in a day in the scrub. Children collaborated and immersed themselves in a variety of nature play learning experiences. Playing in nature supports the development of children’s dispositions for learning such as curiosity, cooperation, confidence, creativity, commitment, enthusiasm, persistence, imagination and reflexivity. Children also demonstrated strong determination to investigate, take risks and have fun in a natural environment. It was also a great opportunity for children from both campuses to get to know each other. A great day was had by all!
