On Wednesday 27 September, a team of 10 Year 7 and 8 students worked together to 'Write a Book in a Day'. They met at school at 8.00am and were given a list of parameters and random words that they needed to include in their story. They worked passionately and solidly from 8.00am – 8.00pm brainstorming, planning, drafting, writing, editing and illustrating. The competition raised funds for Childhood Cancer Research through the Kids’ Cancer Project. Once completed, the books are made available to children in hospital across Australia.
Our Concordia Literary Creatives team of Ilsa, Mackenzie, Izzy, Murray, Minnie, Elsie, Scarlett, Ksenia, Tahlia and Keziah dedicated their book to a Concordia student named Jessica. Jess was a much-loved Year 6 student from St John’s Campus (and a past student at St Peters Campus) whom we treasured. We commend the team for their critical and creative literary abilities, their ability to work collaboratively and their enthusiasm.
