It is with a sense of sadness that we bid farewell last week to Pastor Andrew Brook, who has served as pastor at St John’s Lutheran Church in Unley for the last six and a half years. Pastor Andrew has been involved in the school life of Concordia throughout this time, where his kindness, sensitivity, care, authenticity, pastoral heart and spiritual leadership have been greatly appreciated. Andrew has been involved in the spiritual life of staff, particularly at the St John’s Campus, where he has led devotions and Chapel services, and been a valuable member of the community. Andrew has also helped to steer the direction of the school more generally as a consultant to the College Board, where he has been a great encouragement in the way he has promoted the importance of the Christian faith at Concordia.
Pastor Andrew has been called to the position of Bishop of the Lutheran Church of Australia’s SA/NT District, meaning his work will only get busier! However, we give thanks to God for Andrew and for the wonderful service he has offered to our school during his time at St John’s. We look forward to seeing him in a different role in the future and hope he can remain connected with our community as he serves the wider church.
