Welcome back, everybody, as Term 3 gets up and running! It’s hard to believe that the year has flown by so quickly thus far. We are in the final few weeks until we move into our brand new space and we could not be more excited. We have just concluded our extremely busy mid-year Vacation Care program which saw so many familiar faces return to OSHC as well as some lovely new faces attending.
Our Winter holidays saw us receive some of the nicest weather we have ever experienced in the mid-year holidays. We made the most of the sunshine with trips to parks and playgrounds organised around our excursions. We were able to go on many different types of excursions over the three weeks including Adelaide Ice Arena, Hahndorf Farm Barn, a tour of Adelaide Oval, X-Golf, Mt Barker Cinema and the Adelaide Aquatic Centre. The children were all incredible risk-takers, stepping out of their comfort zones and trying new activities. Ice skating was a perfect example of this.
We also had a number of incredibly successful in-days through the holidays. Our 'MasterChef Day' was one of our favourites. The younger children had lots of fun baking cookies and muffins at the Concordia Campus, and the older children got to show their advanced culinary skills in a mystery box challenge. We had Andreas, a familiar soccer coach of Concordia, come in and run a session with the children. It was great to see all of the kids getting involved in all the fun activities he planned out for them!
A big thank you to Educator Liam for organising our successful Vacation Care program. He always does an exceptional job and we appreciate everything he does here at OSHC. It won’t be long until we begin organising the next Vacation Care, so please don’t hesitate to contact us for any suggestions/feedback for next time.
