As the world returns to the new ‘normal’, international travel and the opportunity to study abroad is in full swing, with Australia a high priority for overseas families. In Term 3, Concordia committed to trialling Short Term Study Programs as a marketing and enrolment strategy. Unlike study tours, these programs provide an opportunity for small numbers of students from various countries, who have expressed their desire to complete their education outside of their country, to experience an Australian school.
Ranging between one and three weeks in duration, 13 students from Vietnam, China, Hong Kong and South Korea have been immersed into Concordia classrooms across Years 2 to 11 at St Peters Campus (Blackwood) and our Middle and Senior School (Highgate). At the Highgate campus, the aim was to introduce these students to our points of difference compared to other Independent and Catholic schools, including Media; Food Design; and Design, Technology and Engineering. The positive response from the visiting students about their time at Concordia was overwhelming, with several making enquiries about future enrolment.
