On Wednesday 18 October, the four-year-olds from the St John's Campus ELC had a special visit from the Metropolitan Fire Service.
The firefighters began by delivering a presentation on fire safety. This enhanced the children's awareness about the following topics:
- what to do in an emergency
- 'good' and 'bad' fires
- the different equipment the Fire Service uses.
A key highlight was the interactive experience of being able to hold the fire hose and pretend to extinguish a fire. Children were also curious and enthusiastic learners as they explored inside the fire truck, asking questions and imagining what it would be like to be a fire fighter.
We extend our gratitude to the MFS team for taking the time to visit and share their expertise.
