We recently celebrated the end of the 2023 26 Book Challenge. Members of our student Book Council spent many hours preparing for festivities – cooking, decorating, preparing bookmarks and much more. The day was a celebration of all things book related. We acknowledged the service of our 15 Book Council members, and we presented certificates to those dedicated bookworms who completed the challenge of reading 26 books in specific categories across the academic year. All students who participated in the challenge in 2023 were in the draw to win some fantastic book prizes and book vouchers. We sincerely thank the library team, Mel Phillips and the staff at Mostly Books Mitcham for their generous prize donations. During our lunch celebrations, Mel Phillips shared wonderful stories of life working in a public library and driving a mobile library bus.
We pay special thanks to our Year 12 Book Council members who returned to school to be part of the celebrations and thank the following students for their service on Book Council in 2023:
