Pedal Prix — Round 2

Tailem Bend Six-Hour Race

On Saturday 18 May, five teams from Concordia Campus joined with St Peters Campus and the Old Collegians team to compete in Round 2 of the Australian International Human Powered Vehicle series at Tailem Bend raceway, against 175 teams from around Australia.

We were excited to race our brand-new trike called 'Costa' in the secondary schools category. The new trike did not disappoint, with students riding around 40 seconds faster per lap compared to last season. All teams represented the College well with some super-fast lap records, reaching speeds of over 60km/h down the back straight.

For many students it was their first experience of Pedal Prix racing. Diligent riding resulted with clean laps and some solid positioning across the day. The stand out result for the day was team Costa, achieving a fifth position in a very strong competition. Our other teams performed well with many students recording personal best times.

A big thank you to all the students and parents who assisted in preparation for the race and throughout the day. We are excited to be racing in Round 3 in Adelaide on Sunday 16 June.
