The Year 8s were excited to invite student audiences to view their end-of-trimester shadow plays. Inspired by the theatre-making techniques of local company 'Slingsby Presents' the Year 8s wrote, devised and performed their own Theatre for Young People performances using shadow and miniaturisation to enhance their audience’s imagination. It was wonderful to invite students from the ELC to view these performances, which gave them the opportunity to experience viewing live theatre and practice their listening and audience skills. The Year 8s ensured there was lots of audience participation, including one group who provided shadow puppets for the ELC children so they could be part of the action. We are looking forward to continuing our peer learning and collaboration between the ELC and the Year 8 Theatre for Young People course in the next trimester of Drama.
