Over the weekend, teams from our St Peters Campus and Concordia Campus competed in races as part of the Adelaide Pedal Prix Festival of Racing.

On Friday 15 June, St Peters Campus competed in the Primary School Adelaide Six-Hour Pedal Prix race. Very wet racing conditions made the track extremely slippery and difficult to see for riders. Students pushed through these challenges throughout the day recording consistent lap times. By the end of the race they achieved 17th overall, which was a great effort.

Results

On Sunday 16 June, five Concordia Campus teams participated in Day 3 of the Adelaide Pedal Prix Festival of Racing. We had stunning weather providing perfect racing conditions for the six-hour secondary school team event. The race began with lots of excitement as three of our senior teams started on the front row of the grid. Competitive racing throughout the day resulted in a few spills and rollovers, but no major trike damage. Teams circulated with some improved speeds and lap times compared to last season, with team Costa chasing down a top-seven position midway through the race. Team Shockwave completed consistent lap times and slowly cemented a position in the top 10 of the Junior School category. Our other teams - Matrix, Concorde and Veloci - worked well and gained valuable experience in the trikes throughout the race. In the last 30 minutes, Lucas in team Costa recorded the fourth fastest lap time of the day, which was an amazing effort. By the end of the race we had two of our teams finish in the top 10, which has resulted in three of our teams being positioned in the top five overall for the 2024 series competition standings so far.

Thank you to all the students, parents and staff who supported the teams throughout the day across several roles. We look forward to racing at Tailem Bend for eight hours next term on Saturday 3 August.
