St Peters Campus 2024 Musical: The Jungle Book KIDS

20 June 2024

The St Peters Campus musical, "The Jungle Book KIDS" is being performed this week (Week 8) and so far it is a resounding success! The beloved story follows Mowgli, a boy raised by wolves in the jungle. With the help of Bagheera the panther and Baloo the bear, he learns to survive while facing dangers including Kaa the snake and Shere Khan the tiger. In the end, Mowgli must choose between staying in the jungle or joining the human village.

The Jungle Book showcases the talents of students from Reception to Year 6, offering a wonderful opportunity for every child on the campus to shine in the Performing Arts. The entire school community together delivers a performance filled with excitement, laughter and memorable moments, making it an unforgettable experience for all involved. The musical covers many curriculum outcomes over the course of the production and provides a diverse and real experience for students to learn the curriculum content and associated dispositions such as discipline, grit, determination, creativity and risk taking.

The main cast comprises the Year 5/6 class and they are to be congratulated for the way they rehearsed, performed as a team and encouraged each other throughout. The Jungle Book will be a memory that all students will have and hold dear forever.

Thank you in particular to Nancy Wells (Choreography and Direction), Trevor Burmeister (Sight and Sound), Nicolle Jakube (Rehearsals and PowerPoint) and Belinda Willson (set and props). A massive team effort from all involved!

If you haven't seen our version of this classic tale, our last show is tonight at 6.30pm at St Peters Lutheran Church (onsite at Concordia College, St Peters Campus, Blackwood).

Book tickets online - we hope to see you there!
