This term has been an extremely busy one in Year 5/6.

We have been working on our musical ‘The Jungle Book KIDS’, with rehearsals and singing in preparation for the performances. The students have been creative in preparing their costumes and it has all come together well. Of the many well-known songs in the show, our favourites would have to be ‘That’s What Friends Are For’ and ‘The Necessities Of Life’, describing Mowgli’s passion for his jungle home and the wonderful characters he meets.

Another highlight of the term was the opportunity to hear from author Tristan Banks. On our visit to Concordia Campus, we got to meet Tristan and find out about his motivations for writing. We learned some of his strategies for piecing together interesting stories, and we heard him talk about his childhood experiences and how he weaves these into his stories in clever ways. He signed some of our books and it was a great experience to learn from such a talented author.
