The 2024 String Soirée was held in the Concordia Chapel on Friday 17 June at 5pm. The concert this year featured students from Year 1 right through to Year 12, including our St John’s Campus String Ensemble, Chamber Strings and Middle and Senior School String Ensemble. Our smaller string groups, including the Cello Ensemble and our String Quartets, also performed on the night. Music varied from classical to modern and even included ‘Gabriel’s Oboe’ from the movie ‘The Mission’ featuring Lani on Oboe.

It was fantastic to see the talent of all our string students shine, culminating in a finale item that included all our string players together. It really was magnificent to see Year 1 students playing alongside Year 12 students! This event would not have been possible without the talent and support of our wonderful Ensemble Directors: Martin Butler, Therese O’Brien, Belinda Gehlert and Karen De Nardi.
