Year 11 Business Innovation 6 Week Pop-Up Business Market

20 June 2024

On Tuesday of Week 6, the Year 11 Business Innovation students held a pop-up market over lunchtime in the Concordia Quad. This was the culmination of a six-week pop-up business project that the students undertook in Term 2.

Following five weeks of real-world type business operations, and funded by supportive investors, groups of students sold products that they had designed, manufactured or improved on to the passing lunchtime traffic.

Products included 'old skool' honey crackles (the retro snack), uniquely "Adelaide" branded T-shirts, laser cut bookmarks, creatively decorated phone cases, scented beads and cheaply sourced snacks. Financial success was mixed, but there was good learning for students and their teacher in this real-world simulation. All profits that were made will be donated to charity. Many thanks to those that supported the experience at home and at school.
