On Monday 9 September, the Year 9/10 girls’ basketball team competed in the first round of the knockout competition. The girls faced Encounter College as their first game of the day. Concordia got off to a great start in the first quarter and maintained the lead for the rest of the game, winning 32-19. The second game of the day was against Cabra. Concordia’s teamwork and resilience was shown on the court, and as a result, they defeated Cabra 42-27. The last game of the day was against the reigning champions, Scotch College. Concordia got off to a fantastic start, leading at quarter time, showing amazing courage and determination. Unfortunately, we couldn’t hold the lead and were defeated by four points, 41-45. Winning two out of the three games meant we made it through to round two and will come up against Immanuel early next term!
