This week, the Year 10s participated in a charity event called Loud Shirt Day to support Claire (10SSCH) in her partnership with CanDo 4 Kids, raising $136. This organisation helps young children with hearing loss and impairments, and you may be aware of its other branches, CanDo Hearing and CanDo Deaf.
CanDo 4 Kids provides support through speech therapy, resources and equipment that children can use without relying on NDIS funding. Their Tiny Tot program focuses on kids from birth to two years old, providing them with a solid foundation and support system. The funds raised through events like Loud Shirt Day directly impact the lives of these children by enabling access to essential therapies and tools that foster communication skills and social development. With the right support, children can build confidence, enhance their learning experiences and improve their overall quality of life.
The main fundraising source for CanDo 4 Kids is Loud Shirt Day, which takes place in October. The community comes together to wear vibrant shirts in support of those with hearing loss and impairments. The array of bright colors makes this event truly spectacular, and all of the kids get involved. This fundraiser is open to everyone and supports the cause in various ways. Claire demonstrated her commitment by organising an activity morning for the Year 10 students, speaking at Chapel, and networking with local businesses and schools.
