With mixed emotions, we recently announced Kate Wood, our Director of St John's Campus Early Learning Centre, will be retiring at the end of this year.
Kate's journey with us began in 2007 when she joined as an Early Learning Teacher. In 2010, she stepped into the role of Director, where she has since led with integrity and dedication.
Throughout her tenure, Kate has exemplified the very best of what we strive for at Concordia College:
- Her warm and pastoral approach has created a nurturing environment for our youngest learners.
- Kate's skillful management has guided the Early Learning Centre through periods of growth and change.
- Her spiritual and educational leadership has been truly exceptional, setting a high standard for early childhood education.
One of Kate's most remarkable qualities has been her ability to build and maintain excellent community relations. Through clear communication, empathy and a willingness to engage, she has strengthened the bond between our educational community and our families.
As a valued member of the Concordia College Executive Team, Kate's thoughtful contributions have consistently demonstrated her deep understanding and passionate commitment to early childhood education. Under her leadership, the Early Learning Centre has thrived. This was particularly evident during the recent ELC external assessment process. Her leadership during this time exemplified her unwavering commitment to maintaining and elevating our standards of excellence.
As we bid farewell to Kate, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for her many years of dedicated service. We wish her rich blessings as she transitions into this new chapter of her life.
Looking ahead, the College will now begin a rigorous recruitment process to find an Early Learning Director of our St John’s Campus, who can build upon Kate's legacy and lead this outstanding service into a bright future.
Please join me in thanking Kate for her invaluable contributions to Concordia College and wishing her all the best in her retirement.
