“If I could say it in words there would be no reason to paint.” - Edward Hopper
This week in Stage 1 English, we decided to flip this sentiment and say it in words… with a reason! Enrichment teacher Mrs Reiger led a virtual tour of our beautiful Adelaide Art Gallery, and then guided students to write poetic and prose responses. The class were challenged by prompts such as ‘tell a story in six words’ and then shared their work with peers. In only one lesson, the class produced some inspired reflections and took away a metaphorical ‘literary toolkit’ they can utilise for an upcoming creative writing assessment.
