This year, students from all three campuses of Concordia College entered the Oliphant Science Awards statewide competition. This competition involves students engaging in scientific investigations, including models and inventions, multimedia, science inquiry, science writing, games, coding and programming, crystal growing and photography.
On Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 August, students displayed their Oliphant Science Awards at Science Alive in the Adelaide Showgrounds. The great work of students was on display for all to see.
Congratulations to Chase 1OL, who has been selected to receive a prize for his game 'The Space Chase'. We look forward to providing more information on Chase's prize when the final prize placings are announced.
A special congratulations also goes to the following students who received High Commendations for their entries:
- Theodore 2BM for his Venus Flytrap Robot
- Jayden 2TS for his Birds in Nature photography poster
- Xavier 4GW in Year 4 for both of his entries: Time Lapse and Food Photography Poster and his Obstacle Avoidance Robot
- Thomas 3/4AB for his crystal investigation project titled 'Crystal Discovery'
- Julius 2WS for his programming, apps and robotics project 'All About Space'
- Lyla 8LTHO for her multimedia project on wound healing
- Nevada 8SFOR for her multimedia project on autoimmune disease.
The Oliphant Science Awards are a fantastic opportunity for students to grow their passion and learning for Science and participate in a state-wide competition. Well done to everyone who was involved this year!
