On Saturday 3 August, four teams from Concordia Campus joined with St Peters Campus and the Old Concordians' team to compete in Round 4 of the Australian International Human Powered Vehicle series at Tailem Bend Raceway. It was an exciting and eventful day of racing. We had a smooth start with all teams successfully managing themselves. Competitive racing throughout the day resulted in a few spills and rollovers, but no major trike damage occurred.
Costa worked hard to chase down those trikes in front, even with a serious crash they were able to hold onto sixth position, an outstanding effort. Costa achieved the sixth fastest lap time in the category thanks to Lucas, an outstanding effort. Riders from Veloci and Concorde were in a fierce battle all day, trying to chase down each other. It was great to see the competitive nature between all riders. Concorde and Veloci finished 24th and 25th respectively, a result all riders should be proud of. Racing in the S2 category, the riders from Shockwave worked hard and raced very consistently to cement a strong finish in 17th place. Thanks to some outstanding racing on the day, Costa is now placed third in the series, and Veloci is sitting sixth in the series - an outstanding effort.
A big thank you to all the students and parents who assisted in preparation for the race and throughout the day. We are now beginning to plan for the biggest race of the season - the Murray Bride 24-Hour race.
