This term our Concordia Campus has been working together to raise money for The Salvation Army, Unley, to support their Red Shield Appeal. We had numerous teams of students accept the challenge of sleeping rough in their backyards for a night to help those struggling in our local community.
On Monday 19 August, our campus came together in the Quad to celebrate each fundraising target we achieved through our annual “Ice Bucket Challenge”. We had over 20 teachers dunked with ice-cold water, with all other teachers and students eagerly watching on. Our Student Leadership team and Middle School Student Leaders also took on the challenge to see who could raise the most money. It was an exciting competition, with the totals often only a few dollars apart. However, in the end, our Middle School Student Leaders came out on top, maintaining their undefeated streak and leaving us to face the ice-cold water!
With Funk Band providing live music and muffins being sold by Forum to raise further money, it was an incredible lunchtime where the community came together to support such an important cause.
We are proud to say we have raised over $7,000! We therefore would like to thank everyone who took on this challenge and those who supported us in reaching this incredible fundraising achievement. We are thankful too for the on ongoing partnership with Unley Salvos. In particular, we acknowledge Alice Edge and Colin Sampson who shared their work with our students to help us understand the great need that exists in our wider community.
