The Reception students at St Peters Campus have been buzzing with excitement as they’ve had the unique opportunity to witness the process of chicks hatching! Over the past week and a half, our classroom has transformed into a hatchery, where tiny eggs have been wobbling and cracking open to reveal our fluffy new friends.
Each day, the Receptions have eagerly documented their observations, noting little changes and milestones. From the first cracks in the eggshell to the moment the chicks took their first steps, the students have been fascinated by the process.
In addition to watching the chicks grow in confidence and curiosity, the students have been learning valuable lessons about how to care for our little chicks. They’ve been discovering what the chicks need to feel safe and protected, ensuring that our tiny visitors are comfortable and well-cared for. Using each chick’s unique features, the children have also been affectionately naming each new addition to the brood.
It’s been heartwarming to see the children’s faces light up with joy as they cuddle and interact with the chicks.
