On Tuesday 22 October, Concordia College held a special event for Year 12 students aspiring to enter medical school. Six students participated in a series of mock medical interviews, designed to simulate the real experience and help them prepare, should they be offered interviews to enter medical school.
The event featured six distinguished medical professionals: an ENT specialist, a plastic surgeon, a medical student, a general practitioner (GP) who joined us via zoom, a medical academic/GP and a medical liaison in oncology.
Each student completed three to four interviews, with each interview centred on different themes or topics relevant to medical school entry and the medical profession. The interviews lasted for 10 minutes, followed by five minutes of personalised feedback.
The evening concluded with a panel discussion, during which the professionals offered general advice and feedback. Students had the opportunity to ask questions and gain further insights into the medical profession.
This event provided valuable, hands-on experience for our students, helping them feel more confident and prepared for their upcoming medical school interviews, should they receive offers. We extend our sincere thanks to the medical professionals for their time and expertise and wish our students the best in their future endeavours!
