CARE @CC – a group for students Year 10 – 12 with an interest in health careers
At CARE@CC this week, we were privileged to learn from Dr David Hobbs. David is a Senior Lecturer with the College of Science and Engineering at Flinders University and is the Course Coordinator of Biomedical Engineering. David shared with us the amazing work that is occurring at Flinders and the innovative work of the Medical Device Research Institute. He shared, with personal experience, how biomedical engineering has the power to change lives. This session helped our students learn about an exciting field of engineering where STEM and medicine intersect. Thank you, David.

Unley Council events
My Voice in My Hands is a free, public, stimulating and highly interactive forum presented by the City of Unley. One of our Year 10 students, Finlay 10BWHA, will be contributing, preparing and presenting for this forum. Aimed at hearing the voices of younger people (16-40), the forum will address the questions:
- What could be done to help your voice be heard and enable you to be an active citizen in our democracy?
- What can you do and what could government do?
Guided by an eminent panel of experts, you will be invited to shape the future of democracy in real time using mobile technology. Tell us the steps to progress a transparent, engaged and active community where voices are heard, and actions are delivered.
Thursday 31 October 6.30 pm Goodwood Theatre
This is a free event, but registrations via Eventbrite are essential.
