On Friday 1 November, children were delighted with a visit from Trent Hill. Trent is a Noongar man from Western Australia. He shared Aboriginal artefacts with the children, told stories and shared cultural knowledge about seasonal movements, roles of men, women and children, and the diversity of Aboriginal people. We learnt about traditional hunting techniques and how the tools varied in their uses. Other items discussed were digging sticks, clothing items made from kangaroo, bush glue and woomeras (spear-throwers) and much more. A highlight of the session was listening to Trent play the didgeridoo. Children were highly engaged throughout the session and had many questions and wonderings.
