The Kelly Sports Clinic conducted four physical skills sessions with children in the four-year-old program at our ELC. All children had the opportunity to engage in two sessions. Explicit teaching took place around the following skills: balancing, throwing and catching a ball; dribbling and kicking a ball; target aiming and throwing; squeezing strengthening exercises and small hurdle jumping. The gross motor and hand-eye coordination activities contribute to the development of fine motor skills. Some of the experiences challenged children; however, they persisted and were willing to have another turn and repeat the exercise.
