Our Reception and Year 1 students celebrated a successful year of learning and friendship by having a Stay Up Late (Reception) and Sleepover (Year 1) at the school last Friday.
Our students came together on our beautiful grounds to enjoy water games, crafts and nature play activities. Students made rafts out of sticks and rubber bands that floated and ran around on the lush lawn for games of splash chase. Some students created characters out of clay and others whizzed and whirled around to music.
Everyone was super hungry and thankful to share a meal of pizza and fruit together and cool off with ice cream and ice blocks. As a part of the event, Year 1 students used an old fashion crank and handle machine to make ice cream. Students declared it "the best they had eaten!"
Little Dreams Tee Pee's helped to create a truly beautiful, fun and safe place for students to sleep. Giggles, reading and whispers were replaced by sleeping as students settled in to their own private Tee Pee's for the night.
A pancake breakfast greeted us in the morning thanks to parents helper and students leaped from their beds to fill their bellies before playing and enjoying each others' company.
I am so proud of the way students speak and treat each other, always with kindness and respect, and this event showcased this behaviour.
A big thanks to our Reception and Year 1 teaching team, who worked very hard to make this event a super memorable one, and to our parent helpers who supported us.
