Pedal Prix Round 1

Mount Gambier 8-hour Race

On Saturday 29 March the Concordia Pedal Prix Team competed in the eight-hour race at Mount Gambier. The school entered four teams with 28 students from Years 7-12 competing. Many students were racing for the first time, which brought lots of excitement and energy across the day.

Dry racing conditions and careful riding resulted in limited time off the track for our teams as they competed against a range of school and community teams from around Australia. A special congratulations to our all Year 7 team for finishing their first race and showing great improvement across the day.

Our Senior A team members were also very excited to race in our newly purchased hard-shell trike “Costa”. This team competed strongly throughout the day in the new trike, recording some fast lap times and finishing third overall in the S3 Senior School category.

Team Concorde and team Raptor performed consistently, showing great support for each of their riders. The weekend was a lot of fun, and everybody enjoyed competing in the first race of the season.

A huge thank you to our parent community for travelling down over the weekend and assisting in a range of roles across the day. A special thanks to staff Mr Divitkos and Mr Brown for leading the race across the weekend.

We look forward to racing at our next event at Tailem Bend early in Term 2.
