SACE Art Show 2025

3 Apr 2025

Recently, Year 12 Visual and Creative Arts students were fortunate to visit and appraise the 2025 Year 12 Art Show, currently exhibiting at Light Square Gallery, as well as the Helpmann Graduate Exhibition.

This visit was important as it contributed to the students' understating of the main features of what makes a successful Year 12 artwork. This was also a further opportunity for students to focus on their course requirements, particularly the practical and folio components. The visit enabled students to view ‘body of works’ in a wide range of media and which explored in-depth concepts.

The folios and artist statements which accompanied the artworks also showed students the process, documentation, inspirations and evaluating required for their own work while referring to artists’ influences. One of the highlights was to celebrate our past Visual Art student Ella Huxtable (2024), whose work ‘What Part of Me, is Me?' was selected as one of the 136 exhibited in the SACE Art Show 2025.

Our students also were able to view the Helpmann Graduate Exhibition at the University of South Australia's City West Campus. Several of the artists were able to share their practice and ideas. This was also inspirational for our students as they continue their journey in developing their folios and ideas, which will lead to a major ‘body of work’ for their own exhibition in Term 4.
