Australian Business Week

Inspiring Concordia College’s Future Leaders

In the last week of Term 4, Concordia College’s Year 10 students embraced the challenge of Australian Business Week (ABW), an immersive program that combines teamwork, creativity and critical thinking to simulate running a business.

Throughout the week, students worked in teams, assuming roles such as CEO and Marketing Manager, to create and manage a virtual company. Guided by mentors, they tackled tasks like developing a product, crafting a business plan and navigating real-world challenges using ABW’s simulation software.

A highlight of the week was the trade display and presentation day, where teams showcased their businesses. From innovative branding to compelling pitches, students impressed us with their professionalism and creativity.

The week concluded with an awards ceremony recognising exceptional achievements. Team “Second Sun” won the Overall Grand Champion award for their ideas linked to sustainability of surfboards for their product.

ABW aligns with Concordia College’s commitment to fostering future-ready learners. The program equips students with practical skills such as problem-solving, leadership, and resilience—preparing them for life beyond the classroom.

A special thank you to the mentors, staff and judges whose support made the program possible.

Programs like ABW inspire our students to dream big and think boldly, and we are excited to see where these budding entrepreneurs will go next!
