Off to a Great Start at St Peters Campus

The 2025 school year is off to a vibrant and heartwarming start at Concordia College, St Peters Campus! Over the first three weeks, our staff and students participated in a wide array of activities that have laid the foundation for a positive and enriching year ahead. From getting to know one another to exploring shared values and celebrating connections, this term has already set a promising tone.

Week 1 : Setting up for Success

On the first day of school, students immersed themselves in engaging “get-to-know-you” activities and established essential agreements for their classrooms. Teachers and students collaborated on creating welcoming learning spaces and explored the campus together, reinforcing expectations around behaviour and safety.

On Friday 31 January, our Reception to Year 6 students ventured to Highgate for an inspiring day of exploration, featuring a visit to the Heritage Centre, a heritage walk, and a whole-College commencement service. This excursion offered students a chance to connect with the past and reflect on their place within the school’s history and community.

Week 2: Building Community and Shared Experiences

Friendship and collaboration took centre stage in Week 2. Highlights included the launch of our Buddy Program, where older students paired with younger ones to foster meaningful connections. Together, they participated in creative activities like drawing, storytelling and discussing the values of kindness and inclusion.

Students also delved into the importance of emotional regulation, fairness and inclusion through engaging lessons and activities. These initiatives encouraged empathy and understanding while reinforcing classroom expectations.

Week 3: Celebrating Connections and Wellbeing

As we moved into Week 3, the focus shifted toward wellbeing and celebration. A special highlight was the Festival of Friendship, which featured bright colors, friendship bracelets and collaborative art projects that symbolised unity and care. Students also enjoyed a fun slip-and-slide session, water play and a sausage sizzle to mark the end of our ‘Off to a Great Start’ program.

Thank you to all our teachers, staff, students and families for making the start of 2025 so successful. Together, we’re building a thriving and connected learning community.
