Q&A with Emma Borgas, Music Teacher — Concordia Campus

1. Where were you before this and what persuaded you to join Concordia?

I have come from the special interest music program at Brighton Secondary School. I wanted to experience teaching in a non-government school and was drawn to Concordia’s rich music program and strong sense of community.

2. Three words to describe you.

Bubbly, creative, patient.

3. What is your motivation or inspiration in your role?

I have always loved music and singing and I am very grateful to be in a job where I get to do what I love every day. My motivation is simply to foster a lifelong love of music and joy through collective music-making.

4. If you had a superpower, what would it be?

I would relish the power of invisibility – I think it would be a nice way to be able to slip away and have some quiet time to myself, but also really fun to be able to play tricks on people!

5. Who would you invite to a dinner party of six guests and why? Alternatively, tell us something you might like to share that we could not possibly know?

I would invite Ru Paul Charles and some of my favorite drag artists from RuPaul’s Drag Race to dinner, because I admire this amazing artform and it would be so much fun hanging out and having entertaining conversation.
