On Thursday 13 March the annual Middle and Senior School Sports Day was held at the SA Athletics Stadium. Although a little warm, it was a terrific day filled with good-natured competitive spirit between the four Houses.
Early in the morning sessions, it became evident that there were two races for victory going on: one between Cheltenham and Highgate for the honour of first place and a second between Malvern and Winchester for third and fourth place. In both instances, the order of the Houses swapped at regular intervals throughout the day, leading to great mystery as to the final places.
There was palpable tension as Mr Weinert stepped up to the microphone at the end of the day to announce the placings.
Results
- Highgate - 2,574
- Cheltenham - 2,537
- Winchester - 2,290
- Malvern - 2,265
Congratulations to Highgate on their second Sports Day victory in a row, but congratulations also to everyone for the way that we can come together on a day like Sports Day and show true sportsmanship and House spirit for the entire day.
Many thanks to all the staff who supported the day by running events and coordinating logistics. A special thank you also goes to Mr Serotzki for his overall organisation of the day.
