Year 10 Visual Arts students are looking at the collaborative work of Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat, who worked as “four hands” for a period in the 80s and left an everlasting impact on a form of art called Street Art.

These artists provide the inspiration for our unit of work based on Street Art with the use of stencil painting and line work on top. This distinct form of art is being transferred into individual works on skateboard decks that address contemporary issues in the style of these artists. The use of a skateboard deck also reflects on the nature of street art culture and the students are able to provide their own personal message on this surface. We look forward to seeing these completed this term.
