Recently our school has been given a collection of stumps and branches to enhance our creative nature play area. The Year 5s have been developing their leadership skills by meeting with other classes to develop a whole-school culture for using these materials safely and successfully. These opportunities have been important for expanding imagination; developing collaboration, communication and problem-solving skills; and exploring basic engineering in fun and engaging ways.
