With the events of 2020 and the associated restrictions fresh in everyone’s minds, the 2021 Concordia College musical production of Beauty and The Beast was a triumphal return to a professional theatre stage for our amazingly talented students. The cast and pit band performed brilliantly, delighting audiences at each of the four shows, ably supported of course by a skilled and dedicated production crew. In her Director’s report, Emma Williams described it as ‘pure joy’ to be back at the theatre bringing this much-loved Disney favourite to life, the latest instalment in Concordia’s musical tradition which now extends over more than 40 years.
Concordia last performed Beauty and The Beast in 2007, and 14 years on it was wonderful to see audiences continuing to enjoy this classic story with its colourful characters and traditional music theatre score.
We congratulate all involved in bringing the show to life and thank all who attended. We trust it was a memorable and joyful experience for students, staff, parents, volunteers and audiences alike! We now look forward to the announcement of the 2022 College musical later in the year.
