Concordia students have taken part in various academic and problem-solving competitions during Term 2, with some wonderful results on each occasion.

At the Australian Brain Bee Challenge, Year 10 students learned about the brain and neuroscience research as well as finding out about careers in neuroscience. Nearly 3000 students participated in Round 1 across Australia, and two of our students earned a place in the State Finals. We wish them all the best for the next round.

At the da Vinci decathlon our Year 7s competed against 22 other schools while our Year 9s competed in a pool of 14 schools, with both teams completing papers across ten disciplines. Placing in the top five in any category is a fantastic achievement and we were delighted that our Year 7s placed fourth in Art and Poetry, third in Ideation and second in Engineering. Meanwhile, our Year 9s placed first in the state in Art and Poetry.

Later in the term, 18 Year 10 STEM students competed in a range of science and engineering challenges against seven Adelaide schools, earning second place for their efforts.

It is wonderful to see students enjoying opportunities for extension beyond the classroom and we congratulate the students involved in these competitions for their efforts.
