Our Year 12 Chemistry students have the opportunity to participate in the Royal Australian Chemical Institute’s (RACI) national titration competition. The technique of titration is critical in determining the concentration of a substance within a solution and requires high precision, offering students a wonderful chance to hone their skills.
In the school phase of the competition, two groups of three students had a combined error of less than 2%, qualifying them for the state round at the University of South Australia. Both teams performed well with one advancing to the national round of the competition. At this level, our team’s very high analytical chemical skills saw them classed as an ‘Excellent Team’, with a combined error of less than 1% and a ranking within the top 10 nationwide – a truly outstanding result!
